Support Ukraine as an Online Conversation Partner

ENGin matches English-fluent volunteers from around the world with Ukrainian conversation partners for weekly online conversation practice. Volunteers share their culture and perspectives while helping their partner become more confident speaking English.

Our vision is a Ukraine where global connection is the norm — where people of all ages and backgrounds benefit from cross-cultural relationships and see themselves as part of a shared global community.

Since launching in 2020, ENGin has connected over 38,000 Ukrainians with over 32,000 volunteers. 99% of our learners report breaking the language barrier after 3 months in our program, and 79% of our participants form lasting friendships. ENGin welcomes volunteers from diverse backgrounds, interests, and experiences. Join us today!

**Support Ukraine from wherever you are, one conversation at a time.**
Join ENGin as a conversation partner and be matched with a learner in Ukraine for weekly one-on-one English conversations. In just one hour a week, you can give a Ukrainian learner a consistent, friendly presence in their life, help them build confidence and break the language barrier, and show them that people around the world are standing with them. You’ll also learn about Ukrainian culture and make a genuine human connection across borders.

We’ll pair you with a learner in Ukraine for weekly one-hour videochats at times that are convenient for you. During your conversations, you’ll facilitate English practice, learn about each other’s cultures, and offer an empathetic, authentic space for connection.

Our only requirements for volunteers are English fluency, a strong internet connection, and the ability to commit to one hour a week for a minimum of
**12 weeks**
.

No prior tutoring experience or knowledge of the Ukrainian language is needed. We offer ample training resources, session materials, and total flexibility to customize your sessions to your and your partner’s goals and preferences. Our friendly team is available to support you throughout your time with us.

Since our launch in 2020, ENGin has matched over
**35,000**
volunteers with Ukrainians for authentic English-language connection across borders, and we continue to grow every day.
**99%**
of our learners report feeling they were able to break the language barrier, and
**85%**
of our participants form lasting friendships. We’re incredibly proud of these results, and we can’t wait to welcome you into this global community of volunteers standing with Ukraine.
