The Max Perutz Labs is a joint research institute of the University of Vienna and the Medical University of Vienna. It was founded in 2005 to deepen the collaboration between the two universities in the field of molecular biosciences. Approximately 450 scientists from over 40 nations work in 40 research groups at the institute, investigating fundamental questions in molecular and cell biology. State-of-the-art research infrastructure supports their work in basic biomedical research.
**Your Personal Sphere Of Influence**
As the successful candidate, you will join the highly internationally networked research group of Prof. Pavel Kovarik, which is engaged in basic research. The research focus is the regulation of the immune system.
**Your Future Tasks**
**You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:**
- Working on your dissertation in the field of gene regulation in the immune system and completing it
- Presenting your work in lab meetings and institute seminars
- Contributing to the preparation of research publications
- Contributing to teaching as stipulated by the collective agreement
- Supervising BSc and MSc students
- Taking on administrative tasks in research and teaching
**This Is Part Of Your Personality**
- Team spirit and excellent communication skills
- Completed Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Excellent command of English (C1 level or higher), spoken and written
- Basic experience in academic/scientific writing
- Successful completion of the VBC PhD Program selection process
- Experience in immunobiology and gene regulation
- Experience with next-generation sequencing
- Strong skills in computational analyses and programming
