A global home hardware manufacturing company with a strong presence in functional and essential furniture hardware is strengthening its R&D capability for the European market. This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer who enjoys solving complex structural challenges and bringing products from concept to mass production.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design of core furniture hardware products such as hinges, slides, and undermount systems
- Solve critical performance issues including noise reduction, load-bearing capacity, durability, and product lifecycle
- Validate and optimize designs through simulation and structural analysis
- Benchmark against leading international hardware brands and translate insights into competitive, manufacturable designs
- Provide technical ownership across the full development cycle: prototype, testing, mold follow-up, trial, and mass production
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure process feasibility and cost control (metal & plastic components)
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in structural R&D for essential furniture hardware (hinges/slides/undermount systems preferred)
- Background from established or well-known hardware manufacturers is a strong advantage
- Solid understanding of structural design principles, materials, and precision manufacturing processes
- Proficient in SolidWorks, UG, or similar CAD tools, able to deliver full structural solutions independently
- Strong international mindset with proven innovation and optimization experience
- Fluent in English for cross-border technical communication and documentation
